Maya pottery from the classical period

It is made of ceramic and talc, with an overall size of 16.9 x 15.3 x 15.3 centimeters. This pottery may have been used as a political gift, depicting scenes of captured prisoners after battle. The pictographic characters surrounding the edges are specifically designed for this container, used for drinking high-quality beverages made from cocoa beans. This container is currently housed in the Cleveland Museum of Art.
